Rue's 7th Anniversary Issue
This issue of Rue Magazine was, and I know I always say this, but one of my favorites. It marked the 7th anniversary of the magazine, and I can hardly believe it... but my 5th year working with the company. FIVE YEARS?! Time flies. I really enjoyed this issue because it felt like such a wide variety of aesthetics were represented. I think there's no "right way" to decorate your home and it meant a lot to be able to show so many different styles. I hope everyone who read it was able to find something that resonated with their own taste.
I wanted to highlight a few of the stories via a few of my favorite pictures:
This home in Oslo was our cover story, and it's such a fun take on Scandinavian design. I think people assume the style is all-neutral-everything, but there is so much color in this space! It feels fresh and exciting.
Home is where you hang your hat... right? This Napa home by Mindy Gayer really defines what California design is all about. There's a surfboard in the dining room and it's glorious.
Well one of my best friends (literally, not just saying that to sound cool) is Bianca Sotelo and she is truly one of the most amazing stylists ever. She's just so naturally cool and knows what looks amazing in photos and also in real life and I wish she could just follow me around all the time and tell me how to be cooler. Anyway, she wrote a really honest article about how she knew it was time to go freelance. I admire her story A. LOT.
I really love this high-end surf shack by Robert and Cortney Novogratz. It's full of family-friendly design solutions yet still looks incredibly sophisticated. And, FYI, I've got a real obsession with whales. Obviously I am very, very obsessed with this photograph and that WHALE. See the whole space here.
So there you have it, Rue's 7th Anniversary Issue. If this piqued your interested, you can see the whole thing here. I hope you love it. Our small team poured our hearts and souls into it and it's such a joy to share it with you.
